Mayo Clinic approached the ASU design school with an opportunity to design the brand identity for their research campus. I competed with 53 other visual communication students and a branding agency to win this opportunity.

Crafting a narrative that evokes emotions, drawing inspiration from nature.

The client presented me with an extensive list of requirements for their logo, which included representing community, innovation, growth, and being distinctly associated with the desert. I am pleased to say that my design fulfilled all of these criteria. Taking inspiration from the iconic saguaro cactus top and the desert sun, the design utilizes yellow to represent knowledge and growth. The shapes come together to form a whole, with implied motion evoking a sense of progress and innovation.

Iterative Process

Even when I feel my designs are finished, I enjoy exploring different possibilities through experimentation. This allows me to present the client with well-considered and thoughtfully crafted options, ensuring that they receive the best possible outcome.
