Lego x MoMA Pop-Up shop

why

This project was an exercise of taking what I know about visual communication and experiential design and applying that to not only branding, but creating a 3D space. A major part of this project included design research, visiting shops and spaces and carefully considering the experience.

Research

An educational space for both adults and kids

This space was crafted to be a combination of two very different brands that represent separate audiences. To account for this, I had to juxtapose materials with color, combining modernism with maximalism. I did a lot of research on pop-up shops to learn how they maximize small spaces under the constraints of shipping containers, I solved for this with an L-shaped entrance to exit form. Not only does this tie back to the brand, it encourages movement. The seating and glass walls allow people waiting to still enjoy the space.
